This privacy policy is applicable to the InstaCaption app (hereinafter referred to as "Application") for mobile devices, which was developed by Quadosoft (hereinafter referred to as "Service Provider") as a Freemium service.
InstaCaption (“we”, “us”, or “our”) values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Android app, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws.
We do not collect any personal information such as your name, email address, or contact details. The following types of data may be processed:
User Images: Images you upload are temporarily processed by our AI model to generate captions. These images are processed in-memory and are not stored on our servers. Once captions are generated, the images are discarded immediately.
Usage Data: We collect non-identifiable data using Firebase Analytics, such as device type, session length, and app interactions. This helps us understand how the app is used and improve performance.
The legal basis for this processing under GDPR is our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the app, and ensuring functionality.
We work with the following data processors to provide functionality and analytics:
Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) – used for collecting anonymized app usage statistics. Google’s privacy practices are compliant with GDPR and they act as a data processor.
RevenueCat – used to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions, validate purchase receipts, and determine user entitlements. RevenueCat acts as a data processor and receives certain non-personal information from Google Play (such as purchase tokens, product identifiers, and receipt data) to verify active subscriptions. RevenueCat does not receive your full payment card details. All transactions are processed by Google Play Billing.
Google Play Billing (Google LLC) – payments for in-app purchases and subscriptions are processed through Google Play’s billing system when you purchase via the Play Store.
We retain no personal data and do not store uploaded images. Analytics data is anonymized and stored securely by Firebase. We apply appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure.

InstaCaption offers premium features through monthly and yearly subscription plans available as in-app purchases on Google Play.
Billing & Payment Processing: All payments are processed securely through Google Play Billing. We do not collect or store payment card details. Transactions, refunds, and payment methods are handled entirely by Google.
Role of RevenueCat: InstaCaption uses RevenueCat to implement and manage subscriptions. RevenueCat helps:
RevenueCat may receive non-personal purchase information from Google Play, including purchase tokens, transaction identifiers, and subscription status data. This information is used solely to determine entitlement to premium features and is not shared for advertising or marketing purposes.
Anonymous App User IDs: We use only RevenueCat's anonymous App User IDs for subscription management. We do not set custom or personally-identifying App User IDs. The anonymous IDs are used strictly to map subscription entitlements and sync status across devices without linking to personal data.
Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel them before the renewal date. Google Play notifies you of any price changes and manages renewal charges.
Manage or Cancel Subscriptions: You can update, cancel, or modify your subscription at any time from your Google Play account (Play Store → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future charges but does not provide refunds unless handled by Google.
Refunds: All refunds are handled according to Google Play policies. You may request a refund directly through Google Play. We do not have access to payment details, but you may contact us if you need support with subscription issues.
Data Processing Basis: Processing subscription data via RevenueCat and Google Play Billing is necessary for the performance of the contract (providing premium features you subscribe to) and for fulfilling legal obligations.
